The evening ritual

Heat, steam, cold, rest. Then again.

Finnish sauna is a cycle, and the cold half matters as much as the hot. Most people do two or three rounds.

01

Heat

Turn the heater on from your phone or light the stove. Sit for 10 to 15 minutes.

160–190 °F
02

Löyly

Ladle water over the stones. The wave of steam is called löyly, and it is the whole point.

1–2 ladles at a time
03

Plunge

Step straight into the cold plunge. Breathe slowly and stay until the shock passes.

39–50 °F · 1–3 min
04

Rest

Sit outside, wrapped up, and let your heart rate settle before the next round.

10–15 min

Before you order

What electrical do I need?

Most electric saunas need a 240 V circuit on a dedicated 30 A or 40 A breaker, run by a licensed electrician. Each product page lists the exact breaker size. Wood-fired saunas need no power at all, and our cold plunges plug into a standard 120 V outlet.

What should the sauna sit on?

A level, well-drained pad: poured concrete, pavers, or compacted gravel with a timber frame. Leave about 18 inches of clearance on every side for airflow and maintenance.

How does delivery work?

Saunas ship by LTL freight on one or two pallets. The carrier calls to schedule a window, and delivery is to your curb or driveway. Plan on two people to move the pieces and about a day to assemble a barrel.

Barrel or cabin?

Barrels heat faster because there is less air to warm, and the round shape pulls heat down to the lower bench. Cabins give you taller ceilings, room to stretch out, and often a porch or changing area.

Do I need a permit?

It depends on your city. Many treat a small sauna like a shed, but the electrical work almost always needs a permit. Check with your local building office before the install.

How cold does a plunge need to be?

Anywhere from 39 to 60 °F works. Beginners usually start in the 50s for a minute or two and work down. Our chillers both cool and heat, so the tub can sit wherever you like it.
